Standing Ovation for Robin Williams at Union Square/The Hillard House

San Francisco, CA

Canon XSI

Found out about this event on Facebook where Robin Williams fans were going to meet up in different parts of San Francisco and give a 1 minute standing ovation and applause to the man who made the world laugh and smile at 1 PM PST. I met up with Kathy Schwartzle (the awesome person who hosted the facebook page) and 5 other fans who wore red in honor of Robin Williams in Union Square. A huge crowd formed later on and when 1 PM hit, a roar of applause unleashed as well as people were yelling “O Captain, My Captain” and other famous Williams quotes. After the standing ovation, I was asked to be interviewed for channel 7 news. I hope I didn’t make it in. haha. Afterwords i said my goodbyes to everyone as i made my trip to the Hillard House from Mrs. Doubtfire. When i got there, there was a good group of people there taking photos and walking around. This was my first time seeing the house. I was very overwhelmed that this was the same house from the movie that I grew up watching god knows how many times. I got little emotional and tried to hold back any tears that were coming my way. After 20 minutes of being there, I decided to leave. Yesterday was one of the coolest and i’m glad to be a part of the Standing Ovation. Rest In Power, Mr. Williams and thank you so much for the all the laughs and your awesome personality.
